

The CMS Strategic Partnerships team hosted the inaugural Partner Impact Awards on May 21 at Central Piedmont Parr Center. The event recognized an exceptional community of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools partners that uplift, support and enrich the educational experience of CMS students and families.
“This inaugural awards ceremony was designed to honor excellence in collaboration by spotlighting organizations, schools and individuals who embody the spirit of service and partnership,” said Chiquitha Lloyd, executive director of Engagement, Access and Supplier Development. “We proudly recognize and honor our partners who make a transformative difference in the lives of CMS students while strengthening connections across the broader Charlotte community.”
The partners’ work reflects innovation, responsiveness and strong alignment with CMS vision and values. Awards were given to the following:

- Faith in Action Award | Myers Park Presbyterian Church
- Partners with a Purpose Award | Novant Health Bridges to Healthcare Internship Program
- Heart of Service Award | Tijua Robinson
- Rising Impact Award | Open Studio Club at West Charlotte High School
- Power in Partnership Award | Bank of America & Atrium Health Foundation Meaningful Medicine
- Engagement Excellence Award | West Charlotte High School
The ceremony was emceed by broadcast journalist Colleen Odegaard, and the keynote speaker was Seth Bennett, senior executive advisor & external affairs for Hornets Sports & Entertainment. Northwest School of the Arts students Nyla Martin, James Pace and Elijah Lisbon-Shabazz provided musical performances.
